Round Tower of Timahoe
From Abbeyleix, the Heritage Trail takes you through Ballyroan to Timahoe village. Here, is a remarkable twelfth-century round tower with an impressive Romanesque doorway. Beside the tower is the Church of Ireland now used as a library.
